Hunter Kerhart

I am a Los Angeles based architectural photographer specializing in historic sites and structures.

I was born and raised in Southern California. I began my career in the film industry just after graduating high school. At the age of 19, I was one of the youngest Camera Assistants in the industry.

After a few years of following that path I realized it wasn’t for me. Eventually I stumbled upon an archive of historic Los Angeles images and instantly became obsessed with rediscovering - then later recreating - these iconic shots of what felt like a different world.

As an Art Deco and Mid Century Modern enthusiast, it’s invigorating to capture decades of ornate buildings being repurposed in the midst of sleek, modern high-rises and skyscrapers throughout the city. When I’m not working for my clients, I work on my side projects of exploring historic buildings (particularly theaters) and also documenting the ongoing construction and development in Downtown LA.

In my free time I enjoy watching movies, playing with my French Bulldog named Obi-Wan, and searching for the best black and white milkshake in LA.
