Project:
CONFIDENTIAL - CORPORATE
Project Type:
CLASS A OFFICE
Location:
LOS ANGELES, CA
Client:
GENSLER
Located in a Los Angeles high-rise, a large corporation [confidential] has been leasing four consecutive floors of traditional office space for many years. Though the 1970s tower has been renovated into a Class A structure, the tenant’s space remained dated.
The tenant commissioned Gensler to redesign the entire office while the 1,300+ employees worked from the company’s other local offices or remotely. After several years of design, planning/permitting and construction, the result is a modern work environment focused on transparency and openness. Each floor, approximately 26,500 square feet, is a hybrid of traditional and creative workspace. In addition to private offices, bullpens and conference rooms, the open floor plan provides a myriad of casual seating areas that encourage a more relaxed and collaborative climate.
The upper three floors contain the project’s signature design feature – an atrium flanked by open walkways and bolstered by three concentric meeting rooms on each level that jettison out of a curved wall. Gensler took advantage of the building’s large windows, which flood the open, airy space with natural light.
